Endometriosis. What is it?

Oh, it's a mega BITCH.

OK fine, it's a painful disorder in which similar tissue that lines the inside of the uterus (but isn’t the same tissue of your uterus) grows outside of your uterus. It mostly involves your ovaries, Fallopian tubes and the tissue lining of your pelvis but it isn't scared to travel anywhere it can reach. Some causes are: Cysts, infertility, fatigue, depression, lots of fucking pain and much more.

Endometriosis affects 1 in 10 women. Most women are diagnosed in their 20s, and it affects all races equally. There are many myths on a cure but honestly, there is no cure.

Many women suffer from this disease and don’t even know it. It took the doctors 7 years, and over a dozen trips to the hospital to figure out I had endometriosis. Endometriosis symptoms are not noticeable by eye it's a battle on the inside of your body, that doctors normally brush off as something else like appendicitis, pelvic pain, or just as having cramps and you are overreacting.

I’ve checked many different websites, blogs, Instagrams and I can't find one that I could fully relate to.

Just because you can’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t there

I've suffered from an invisible chronic illness called endometriosis for many years now but if you could see part of what I feel this is what you would see. (This isn't showing my hip, down my leg or my back).

I have been silent for way too long about my pains, and symptoms but not anymore I'm here to show, and speak for my endo sisters and myself. We have been silent way too long!
Here is my pain, my vulnerability, my all for you to see! Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there!

Thank you @wordswherever for the background edit
This is only makeup done by me, but if it looks like someone attacked me that's because endometriosis did

Be honest.

To help yourself and others understand you have to believe what your body is telling you if you feel a pain that is different than normal go get it checked out. Be vocal and be honest with yourself and everyone else. No one can understand if you don’t know how to understand yourself. Many times you’ll hear it’s normal you are overreacting but no you aren’t and tell them to fuck off.
